My private health provider provides me enough coverage to get my contacts supplied for minimal cost during the year, but not enough to get some new glasses. I have old ones hanging around, but I really would like some thick rimmed frames. Buying them through an eyeglasses store can become really expensive, the cheap pairs I’ve seen quickly become expensive if you have difficult prescriptions. As this article states, glasses do not need to be expensive. You always have the option of finding a high quality, and cheap store online. For example, here are some really cheap eyeglasses. Zenni Optical have their glasses starting at $8.00US per pair. Even if you have a difficult prescription, or need bifocals, that cost plus $8.00US is still extremely cheap. I think the most expensive frame they sell is around $40.00US. Also, their charge for anti-glare coating is very cheap in comparison to majority of places. Shipping is under $4.00US, no matter how pairs you order.

The only problem I think about Zenni, I can’t figure out if they ship to Australia! I can’t see the information on their site, and I’m really liking this pair, and the one pictured to the left and for only $8.00US plus shipping I would totally order them.

When the movie came out, I knew it would be fun, even if the storyline was bad the songs would be great! Except the storyline was pretty awesome too.

If you enjoyed the movie Mamma Mia! you can now enjoy Mamma Mia, the musical. Now in Sydney for only 15 weeks at Star City’s Lyric Theatre. If we had some money to throw around at the moment, a flight to Sydney for a weekend, some sightseeing and a night out with a dinner and Mamma Mia! Live would be awesome.
In fact if you have friends living in Sydney, or wanna fly someone over there, tickets are still available for Mamma Mia! and it would make a great gift. The season is running throughout the Holidays so it would really would make a great Christmas present, suitable for children aged five onwards, any one who liked the movie, or ABBA songs, or any one who loves a good show.

Live, loud and fun, and I’m sure they’ll let you sing along and dance in your seats.

The boy and I rent a lovely little maisonette and our lease was for a year. Unfortunately, it’s the end of the lease and they are not renewing it. We have four weeks, well probably three now, to find a new house and to move into it. We’ve seen some nice places, one was a nice unit about the same size as this house, and a house which is much larger. Obviously the price is slightly more, but definitely something we can afford, and I think we both agree the larger one is best suited for us (boy, me, puppy, and three year old).

Finding a new house, moving, and cleaning this one, is not only so much effort. It costs so much money. I swear this is the last time we’ll do this. The next time I have to move, I want to be moving into my own house. That’s is my goal for the next year, to have the money situation to buy our own house.

We have the income to afford the mortage repayments, it’s the intial outlay of money, and needing a loan while having some debt. Time to reorganise our very unneeded (and unpaid because we’re lazy) debt. I’m thinking of rolling the two credit cards together, since that’s is our whole source of debt and then I can pay it off in dramatic chunks. I’m thinking of looking at a credit card which offers a lower interest rate, credit cards Australia gives a run down, which makes it easy to compare. That way every time I make a huge payment I see most of its’ benefits. The next thing I need to do is actually save some money to use as a deposit. It’s not the lack of cash, it’s the lack of planning and effort.

So turning some tables when we move, more money smart and I gotta clean properly! Where is that timetable of cleaning I started to put together?

Weight is something that has plagued my life for several years; I never discussed it openly until I moved in with the boy. Being that close to someone make it much harder to hide weight concerns. I would also struggle to get him to understand my point of view on my weight and it would end badly.

I started thinking about what language I use in relation to my weight; “How Women and Men Talk about Weight” was a great start point. I would talk about my diet and losing weight and the boy would mention getting fit and getting into shape, it’s a small difference but what a difference.
It’s amazing how girls speak about wanting to be skinnier and a certain weight, and even if boys have goals of losing weight and being a certain weight, they describe and talk about it very differently. They talk about wanting to see their fitness level improve and being able to reach a fitness goal. It just seems to differ between genders greatly.

I love the way the article highlighted points to help each gender talk about weight loss to the opposite gender; I summarised them below:

Girlie advice

• Keep the language differences in mind when discusings weight with males
• Remember that lack of understanding does not mean lack of caring
• Find a common language to express your feelings

Boy advice

• The words muscular, big, fast or strong are not compliments, most girls hear this as FAT.
• Use language, such as “nice curves” or “you look more toned”.

When I restarted my blog, I was very interested in doing paid blogging. I’ve seen several blogs do quite well with it. As much as I skim through the posts myself, I am completely happy with the posts being there as long as the blog has mainly real and authentic posts. I’ve looked into many companies which provide paid blogging, but I keep coming back to the company Izea. They run several paid blogging sites.

One I have signed up with isPayPerPost v4.0, it is new and only just come out of beta. The thing that firstly drew my attention was that I didn’t have to wait for approval, most demand critirea such as; the blog must have been around for 1-2 months with a certain amount of posts, and with a Google page rank or Alexa rank before you can get approved. The second thing I loved, was being able to set the price I demand per word and per link. I don’t want to be offered opportunities where it wasn’t worth my while. Mind you, this means you can outprice your worth, but it also means I am in complete control, which I love.
Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to receive an opportunity from this company as yet. However, as I do, I will keep my opinion up to date, as I know there are several readers who are interested in seeing someone they know do paid blogging and their experience with it.

As you can imagine they are always looking for more advertisers that want to be involved with this kind of online marketing. So if you are interested in being an advertiser or blogger follow the link above and have a read through the informative FAQs, and have a look through their help forum I found quite a bit of information there.

I’d also love to read people’s opinion about paid blogging, I realise people see it as spam, but as a revenue stream? Does it matter if it is a site full of proper content, and the person passionately writes for his/her blog? Or if the person openly displays that it is indeed a sponsored post, I personally find it misleading if people don’t display it as one. Is it best if the paid post has content which is related to the overall topic of the blog? Or do you always think it is spam and not okay?
