When the slope is slippery…

Even with the healthy food kick, and not counting calories I’m already struggling with issues of my past. It’s much easier to skip breakfast, to eat low cal soup for lunch, and steamed vegetables for tea. It’s a hard, and embarrassing place to be.

I was trolling Tumblr, when I came across this quote from the beautiful, talented Sophia Bush.

“Life is too short, and I’m Italian. I’d much rather eat pasta and drink wine than be a size 0.” – Sophia Bush

She is beautiful, hot and has given me the strength to face my issues and fight them for a little bit longer.

In fact, tomorrow I will not be afraid of bread, or not eat food because I can’t check packaging and find out the calorie amount, as long as I’m hungry and it’s healthy I will eat it. (And my mind is already screaming and fighting that plan for tomorrow.)

I don’t often comment here, and I less often write here, but I wanted to share this with you guys because I’m sure y’all be as proud of her as I am.

I learnt to run using an interval system, 2 minute walk, 30s run, 2 minute walk, 60s run … you get the drift … now my aim for her is the Adelaide City to Bay in September. It’s a 6km run and right now she doesn’t think she can do it, but I know better … I think maybe we could do the 12km, but I don’t want to scare her.

So I present Elle’s first step to completing a 6km run.

(This was tracked with the awesome Nike+ system on an iPhone which syncs a pedometer with a training program, and onto nikerunning.com. It’s a great place if you want to learn to run, there are some great coaching tips, online competitions and links out to some great running workouts you can buy on iTunes.)

Ever since I had that extended break from blogging, I’ve struggled to get back into it. That and I also seemed to have lost some readers which is a little discouraging.
It also shows me that there are still things I don’t blog about, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m nervous to or because real life friends and family read the blog, and even really close online friends.
I have a few blogs posts I have written up in my mind, “gender neutral” parents, my new HP Mini netbook, and the fact I have a lack of healthy vegetarian recipes.

Eight days ago I blogged about trying to eat healthy and use the Wii Fit to lose some weight. Surprisingly I have, I’ve lost about 2 kilos. The Wii tracking my BMI/Weight has definitely held me accountable, and it was super easy to turn down HUGE cupcakes at work in exchange for my yummy apple puree. (I know it’s basically baby food but it’s like the best tasting thing in the world ever.) However, those times I do eat something naughty (hot chips at the football) I have such a hard time letting it go. I think about it for the whole day, and tend to eat a lot less the next day.

I have three essays which totals at 4500 words due in the next two weeks, so I guess I’ll disappear again for a while.

As I’ve gone into on previous blog posts I have some issue with my eating habits, since I have gotten a desk job I have gained some weight. I sit at my desk, where I used to not sit down at all during my previous job.
The issue I have is when I start to “diet,” I go the extreme and within a week I struggle with not consuming enough calories.
Instead, I have made the choose not to count calories, and rather just make healthier choices. (As in I take Apple Puree instead of falling victim to the horror of vending machines.)
It’s very hard for me not to count calories, it’s an automatic thing for me, when I pick up something I work out how many calories it is. It’s not something I do on purpose, but rather just something I do unconsciously.
I realise not counting calories will make it much harder for me to loss weight, so I’ve also decide to start doing proper exercise. Just to show how serious I am about it, I went and bought exercise shorts and tops.

My first step is using our Wii Fit and do the Couch to 5 kilometre program. I have started using the Wii Fit and I’m loving it. I can actually do a prone hold for 30 seconds, and according to the Wii Fit I hold it fairly steady.
I will start the Couch to 5K when I can work out when I am able to do it without running in the dark….

Basically, I need to lose 7 kilograms. I’m aiming for two to three months, it may be a long deadline but I’m not sticking to a calorie based diet, and only increasing my exercise from zero to something.

I always have girl crushes, I crush on celebrities and people I know in real life. I cannot help it, I’ll happily admit when females are attractive and if they are lovely and sweet then they have me won. They don’t have to be hot, or young, just lovely and attractive. If they are celebrities then I will watch anything they are in, and squeal when I see them. I get influenced by the persona of their character, if they play someone who is sweet and has attitude then’ll love the actress.
My lovely blog readers, do you have girl celebrity crushes? I wanna hear them all, especially if you’re also a female!
Girl crushes
1. & 2. Jayma Mays from Glee, she has such a sweet face and I love her character on Glee.
3. & 4. Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill. OMFG I LOVE HER, she’s hot, her character is confident and sassy. She’s a firm believer in that zero is not a size. She has this sexy husky voice and a figure to die for. I just love love her. I crush most on her. <3
3. & 4. Kristin Chenoweth from West Wing, Pushing Daises and guest starred on Glee. She’s so pretty, and hot, she’s a great actress. The three roles I listed shows she can successfully play any character, and man, that girl can sing.
5. & 6. Sasha Gray from, well, Google her (NSFW).
7. & 8. Dianna Agron from Glee. Similar reasons as to why I like Kristin, she can sing, and she’s really cute.
9. & 10. Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls, I love this show, her character had so much attitude and she was such a smart alec. She’s hot, hot, hot. When she dated Matthew Perry I nearly died from cuteness.
11. & 12. Alyson Hannigan from Buffy and How I Met Your Mother. Have you seen her? She is hot, and so pretty. I love her, I love her cos she plays awesome characters, I love that she’s worked with both Joss Whedon and Neil Patrick Harris, that she has done episodes that have the characters break out into song but only has one line in them because she hates to sing, and how sweet she is on Twitter and her awesome she is as a mummy.
13. & 14. Lisa Goldstein from One Tree Hill. She’s the latest on my list, she’s meant to be the “unpretty” one on the show but omg she is pretty. It’s the first real thing she’s acted on, and they’ve taken her character on a rollercoaster and she’s nailing it. I’m looking forward to seeing her in more.
